Hi all

Need to buy a new front wheel this week as going on holiday saturday.

I wanna get a mavic 719 after buckling my standard front wheel.

I want to know whats a good setup to get, so far im thinking of 719 with a hope XC hub bt what are the other components i should get i.e. spokes (want black ones), etc etc.

any help is appreciated.

Where are you getting 719 rims for 15 quid?

its from the chaon reaction site, its the upgrade thing they have

Rest of the set up looks ok.

I have just (8wks) had a Hope XC/DT Swiss 4.2 built up. It weighs less than the 719 and it seems to be as good

hub is £65

im assumning that i can use my orignal tyre.

Bin the Hope skewer and get Shimano one that actually works

Second that Kato. Nothing functionally beats Shimano quick releases.

Rest of the build looks fine to me. 719's aren't the lightest but they are reliable.

I'd go for the spoke upgrade to double butted rather than the nipple upgrade.

I've just bought a similar front but on a Pro 2 hub. Worth considering if you ever change to a 20mm bolt-through fork as it's a doddle to change.

It woudlnt give me the option for the shimano skewer.

I've never used the hope skewers but from what people here have said I wouldn't order them simply because the web site won't let me order what I want.

I've emailed CRC in the past with wheel requests and they are pretty good at bespoke requests.
