currently running a three ring set up, ive been suffering with the chain getting intimate with the bb for far to long, its time to end this sorrid affair!
hmm, I was considering one of those but was thinking that it must be quite easy to spin-out a middle ring on long, fast descents?? How do DHers get away with only using a "middle" ring?
Don't really use a middle ring, Dan. It is on the middle ring tabs on the cranks, but most guys are running a 38 tooth with a road cassette. I'm using a 36t for extra ground clearance, as my BB is lower than a monkeys knuckles and that lets me use the smaller bash guard. For a twin ring setup I'd go with a 36/24.
E-13 do a dual ring chain device, I've never used it but their single ring devices are amongst the best there is. I dont see too many Blackspires around these days, though I have used them in the past and they were fine. One problem I had with them was the Allen bolts are all Imperial, that may have changed now tho'.
E-13 is worth every penny, was going to go for cheep option, but changed my mind. I run just a 34 tooth front and find that is fine for almost all riding
