More or less as the title says really, I read on here that K18 and 24's are the same brake only 24's have bite point adjuster and t'others don't, is this right?
I really need to swap my brakes soon and if at all poss. want some formulas, so if I can save a few quid and get a black brake that matches bike then that would be good!
Having owned both k18s and k24s, i would go for the k18s as they are basically the same brake, just as powerfull, although if you like a spongy lever you might not like the k18s as they have little modulation which is where you would benefit from the k24s adjustment.
Cheers rickirk, I like a firm lever with a good solid bite, so the K18's sound perfect!
Dylan, the XT's just ain't all that at all, so going on back as they can cope with heat 'cos I keep frying the poor old m525. If I can't afford K18's it'll be juicy 5's, but would like a better brake technically as the j5's can be temperamental if they feel like it, the ones on the inbred have been ace ever since I sorted them, but getting there was hassle and there have been a lot of problematic juicy's on here whereas folk have nothing but praise for formulas with no tales of woe even from long time users.
Formulas all the way matey. Bought a pair of puros off a nice french geezer for a whole lot less than retail and they must be the best brakes around. There are too many negative comments around the www about all the other brakes. You'll struggle to find anything bad about formula anywhere. K18,K24,Bianco or Puro, buy what you can afford and you'll be happy whatever.
