I'm heading out to Spain in about a month and was after some advice on a few bits of kit. I ride a Commencal Meta 5.5.2.

What tyres would people suggest - I'm thinking something along the lines of Continental Gravity 2.3

Also what kind of brake pads would people suggest - organic or sintered (not really sure of what is appropriate). I have Formula Oro K18 with 180/160 mm rotors.

Oro's shouldn't over heat, but a few packs of Organic would still take the heat better.

Gravitys will do well for XC riding on dry ground / rocks not to bad for the climbs.

Prefer bigger 2.5's but thats just me!!

Off over there myself in September, and going on previous experience, I'd say 2.5 inch tyres with good puncture resistence (2-Ply Maxxis High Rollers are very good, availible in 2.35/2.5), and organic pads.

Oh, make sure you get a hard compound tyre too (60a, if you do go for Maxxis) - tyres can wear extremely quickly over there.
