My torch highbeamer didnt seem to last (thanks ebay) so I need a quality commute light preferably recharge but not too important. Here's the crux though, the myncki exchequer can only stretch up to around £50.
just bought a electron front light, re chargeable , for about 34 quid, from crc, use a cate eye srobe on the rear, also worth getting a reflective jacket, got one years ago of a driver for north west water after he nearly ran me over, they work well in the dark.
just dont expect them to run for a long time mark...
i got one of these from the lbs and its fairly bright and your supposed to get 30 hours out of 4 AA batterys (not road legal as its an LED and doent flash) but un along side a cheap flashing LED its classed as an suplimentary lamp..
i also got one of these but the light spread is less (more of a spot) (but legal on flashing)
Are you comuting with streetlights or in the pitch black?
Cheers guys The commute is a mixture of lit roads and unlit country lanes, I got through last winter with 2 commuter lamps (the kind you can get for £5 - 10) but thought an upgrade to a rechargeable would be good for this year.
I was worried about the Knightlight as the feedback is crap and I didnt want to repeat the mistake I made with the torch highbeamer... the smart light was interesting me probably this owl or if I get the new job then this one.
I'm using a £55 L1 and 1 £8 Torch 150lumen off E-bay currently, got 2 more 180lumen torches on order though also £8 each, + £3.00 for 6 rechargeable batterys.
No if your going to be like that, I won't help you.
Do a Search for UltraFire all 1 word on E-bay, look at the CREE 4 watt ones, find the 180lumens, 2 batterys with the switch on the rear @£8 a pop, there is a HK###### shop 1000's in there, pain to sift through though.
150 runs off 1 battery, so 35mins, you'll get 1hout 10 out of the other setup as there 1000ma batterys and 2 of them, not 850ma or something I got first.
They do the chargers aswell, mains and car charger, 2 batterys at a time, both seperately with a light to show when each 1 is full with 2 batterys for £4 or something to.
I'll run 2 180's, medium power being 1 most of the time, so over 2hours with the occasional blast with 2 on, seconds to change the batterys.
Postage is the bitch though, got some on order via my mates wife dunno if I only paid postage once or 3 times.
Got my new 180lumen 2 CR123a Battery lights today, first impression 60lumen BOLLOX, batterys weren't charged, put 2 charged 1 in and compared to the 150lumen and actually looks like more than 150, really kick ass impressive.
Alittle chunky and heavy compared to the tiny 150lumen, but hey 2 of them being strapped to my lid currently
