I've been struggling to get my RS Revelation Dual Airs set to my liking. I've tried varying +ve & -ve pressures, but I can't get a nice balance of plush without being too soft. I think that I'm probably expecting too much of air shocks having used coils for years, so I think I might have to sacrifice some weight and get some coil sprung forks.
Revelations with coils seem pretty cheap (just over £200) and only a couple of hundred grams heavier than the airs so are they any good? Does anyone know if they come with different weight springs or do I have to buy heavy springs extra? The other option is Fox Vanillas, but they're at least £100 more - is it worth it?
Erm, I don't think the Revs come with additional springs; however if you order them from Tftuned they'll fit the correct spring for your weight before sending them out. The only downside is that they do cost more from there than say Chainreactioncycles or wiggle etc.
As for the Fox's; although I love the action of my 36's I don't think it's worth paying another 100 notes for the 32-series Vanillas; Revelations are very good for the money.
re conversion kits; I don't know but I'd imagine it's expensive and probably not worth it!
Unfortunately I haven't been 79kg for about 20 years (and I'm only 30 now!). If someone could come up with negative cal beer, they'd be richer than Bill Gates within a week!
Coils revs with heavy spring it is, cheers for the advice!
