Upgraded brakes [well front one] today.

Bought an adaptor to take a 160 caliper to 180 and a new disc. So now I'm only half dangerous.

Will it work

Will I stop better with more modulation

Or will I just end up locking the front wheel and sliding everwhere until the tyre grips and I go over the bars.

DANGEROUS!!!!! You MUST increase both discs to 200mm minimum.

I live life on the edge with160/160 but I'm just about to order a pair of 08 XTs with 180/160 mmmmn.

See all my pain of trying to convince utter mind stuck idiots has paid off,  1 person ( well XCman )  has bothered to improve his brakes despite the 40gram or so weight penalty.

Give it awhile for the new disk to bed in.

The HT I borrowed has got 180mm Magura julies,  compared to the J5's 203mm's,  they don't do anything and I've got serious hand ache after trying so hard to make them do something.

08xt's I want,  alledegly that'll be similar power of 203/180 Jimmy nice,  but I want 203/203 ofcourse.

the rotor+adapter or the different between your prev setup ??

Even then  60grams isn't noticeable by anyone unless your weighing the bike and playing the weight weenie game.

Or you could cut back on your cakes and beer ever so slightly
