Hi all Have entered the G2revolver 8hr race this coming saturday as a team,we have never experienced this kind of riding before so was wondering what to excpect?Does one ride a lap at a time then rest while team mate does his bit?Is it ok to bump slow people out the way and can I rub back tyres with my front? Really have no clue so any tips much appreciated.Thanks.

is that the one near brighton? if it is, i've no idea racing tips: if anyone behind you yells "on yer right" don't bother pulling left untill it's safe to do so, if he wants to be in front, he has to work for it. that said, don't be a dick about it, if there's an obvious line you can take for him to pass, take it. erm, other than that, just ride. and remember a spare tube & pump. a racers favourite, is to forget shoes and helmets etc.. my best was forgetting some tyres... so pack, pack again, then repack for good luck

 Or make a list

Does one ride a lap at a time then rest while team mate does his bit? If you like. Or two laps at a time. Depends how long the course is. If you've got no idea how long a lap's going to take, do one each first and then see. If you don't feel like you're getting time to rest between laps, double up. Is it ok to bump slow people out the way No. and can I rub back tyres with my front? No. If you're going _much_ faster than the person in front, then politely let them know you'd like to come past. If it's wide enough for two bikes, then a quick "on your right/on your left please" should do the job. If it isn't that wide, then you'll just have to wait.

I know when I have taken part in team races we have doubled up laps but it depends on your fittness. Make a plan but don't be too worried if you have to change tactics. We found we could keep going at full steam for a couple of laps and cut down on change over times. Pack plenty of food, water and energy gels. Ah and ensure your bike is in perfect working order with kit you know and trust. But most of all have fun.

Thanks for replies people. Yes Mike its in Brighton.Glad to know can do more than one lap at a time,I know the course and its not that big so will be good to get a bit of flow on for a couple of laps.Really looking forward to it,if its wet it will be nasty .For sure the thing I forget to bring with me is going to be my motivation. Might even test lap a 69er as Trek have them there for that purpose
