The buggers don't seem to want to go in! The shell has been faced, the threads carefully wiped, I've even screwed the old cartridge B/B back in with no probs but I get about 2 or 3 turns on the external bearings and they start to stiffen up. Am I being too cautious?

Greenville you need to move up to the 21st century, one of these mothers will sort the problem out............. remember to put a bit of wood between the bike and the persuader.

I have found the threads quite difficult, easy to mis align. Though if you are 3 full turns in it should be aligned. I took a lot of attempts before the hope BB went in smoothly and at one point I thought I had stripped it. I don't think a persuader is the right tool...... unless you get very frustrated.

Haven't had the time, Nobby. Got the cranks on now, did the headset and forks on Sunday. Do a bit more on Friday (when I'm not at w*rk again).

This morning I are mostly going to be fitting HTII BB/cranks to me singlespeed.

I 'ave also been mending showers, sorting out where the water was coming from that leaked through the kitchen ceiling and moving FGO1 into her new house in Sheffield, amongst other things.
