Was out on the trails and discovered that my compact pump was definitely up to the job of putting more than 25psi into my 26" Mavic ust hoops it's barely put enough air to get me home. So I need a pump that's got more ooomph and can inflate a tubless setup to 35-40psi.
Anybody recommend a good pump for trail use?
(I already have a decent track pump but feck am I lugging that around the hills of Wales)
Blackburn pumps got to be better than my poxy Top peak mini dx - it's rubbish and takes ages to inflate a 26x2.35 tyre to a mere 20-25psi - I was lucky that was enough air to get home..Just
Mountain or road morph (road morph has pressure gauge but delivers a bit less volume) I have road morph, goes in bag no prob and pumps up tyres so much more quickly and reliably than stupid mini pumps, 2 years with no trouble.
Aye mag dropped through letter box on Sat morn lol
For a ten spot Blackburn looks like a good bet and lezyne kit is always top notch, Topeak morph nice features - not sure about the durability of the flip out mini track pump style feet tho'...
Do not get a specialized windpipe. Nice idea for tyre/shock use, but pumping up a 2.3" is like bilge pumping the titanic with a thimble. It just doesn't touch the sides.
Look around for a decent price on a 'morph of some description, don't worry about the fold out thing, mine hasn't broke, but even if it does you just use it as you would with any other pump, in both hands, which tbh is how it generally gets used most of the time anyway.
