I can almost always get tubeless to seat ok with a trackpump - it just needs a bit of fast pumping. A generous helping of soapy water helps too. The one exception was a new set of Michelin tyres which needed a co2 cannister to get them on. However now they have been used a bit they go on fine with a track pump. In my experience CO2 can solidify some of the latex sealing solutions.
For your nearest Wilkinson have a look on their website : Wilkinsons
Yeah we bought 1000 from tyreinflators.co.uk and they seem really good, they're CO2 cartridges at the end of the day!
Perhaps we should all club together for a big order?!
I notice that Stans say not to use CO2 to inflate tyres with their sealant, presumably because of the associated issues of sealant separating or whatever. I've never had a problem inflating any of my current tyres, but it definitely depends on wheel/tyre combinations, Contis often required CO2, whilst Schwalbe never have.
I would never depend on CO2 for general trail riding. It just doesnt offer a 100% guarentee so i carry a pump, especially on solo rides. Doing the HTN at the weekend and will use it for that. Pretty certain that if it went tits up i would still be able to borrow a pump off someone.
