This time last year I got myself an orange 5 with 160mm lyriks and a fox RP23. I rode the bike in Morzine and loved it but have since been on numerous trips to the welsh trail centres and just havent felt that 'magic' I remember from Morzine! The fork sometimes feels harsher than I'd expect over small bumps, sometimes not precise enough on tight singletrack etc. I cant help wondering if I'm not getting the most out of the suspension because of the wrong setup. I mean on the forks Ive got (1) air pressure (2) low speed comp damping (3) high speed comp damping & (4) rebound damping then the rear shock has (5) air pressure & (6) rebound damping. 6 settings in all meaning theres a good chance I've got something set up wrong! But the question is how do I know? I've tried changing things but to be honest cant tell a big difference. I realise theres no exact science and that the settings will depend on your riding style, terrain etc but I feel I just need some hints to get me on the right track. Having ridden a hardtail with only fork rebound damping adjustment for so many years I find it all a bit alien. Its not as though you can look down at the forks/shock to see whats happening! I guess it relies on feel which may come with time the more I ride the bike?
