I have a job locally just south of Ashbourne on Monday morning.

I can maybe squeeze in 2, or at the most, 3hrs if you can recommend a local ride.

After that it's back to London, so not looking for a ride too far from Ashbourne TBH.

I'm open to suggestions ....

Are you trying to bore him to death with the Tissington Trail??  OK it climbs a teensy bit but it was a railway so it's not exactly taxing. 

Sorry, but I actually don't have any suggestions for routes though.

This has quite a few routes near Ashbourne, and this has erm... all of them.

Second Derek's suggestion of the V-Graphics gudiebook - the Tissington Trail is dullsville btw, even for southerners

Have a look at the Manifold Valley or South Buxton routes from the book, both a stone's throw from Ashbourne. Buy it as an inspiration investment and come back for more later in the year.
