I've just looked on the Balfa website and my dream FXR with a Curnett shock (the standard one, not the posh one) comes in at over £2200 for the 2009 model.

Why has it gone up so much..whhhhhhyyy?

Regardless of income there is no way hose' that I can ever justify over £2k on a frame only..     and I REALLY wanted one too

I really wanted one...

Hoping Europe and the USA will start struggling more than the UK is soon as the UK should level out and get the exchange rates somewhere near where they used to be.

I wanted the 09 RS Reba 29er 120mm U-Turn forks,  but not at this price

Santa Cruz just the same so this years v10 is now an Autumn project as opposed to Summer - still, price hikes keep the chavs out - which I like

Euro exchange rates improving although likely take a hit at any time,  and the USD exchange rate is well having a rest after a huge sell off expect more downside.

DN - Santa Cruz's are made in the far east though now aren't they?  I like the idea of handmade lovelyness of a frame. ...

Fraser - mmmm YETI looks tempting but not sure if it's burly enough for the odd DH day??

Intense haven't taken so much of a price hit (but prices have still gone up) because there are elements of their frames which are still made in the far east keeping costs down (even with the increased manufacturing costs out there).

Dan, if you really want a Foes get in touch.

Still hand made, as are most bikes.

Your both right - im sure even in the far east they are made by hand (both my SC's have proud Made in Taiwan stickers on - although when i refreshed one of em with new stickers, I left that one off!!!)

Hand made in the USA - would you want a modern American car???

I was in shokwave in nottingham today, and he was telling me how lovely the Titus frames he has in stock are, again because they are hand made - in fairness, they are nice, handmade or not!! He has an El Guapo in that he wants 1000 for instead of 1600....

And I think you'll find the price on the Balfa site includes the XTD not ITD shock.

Don't be tempted to do it with a Fox. Please.

I won't IWH. I didn't realise the Balfa price was with the posh shock option but even so it's going to be a f3ck load...
