and are they worth the £95 price tag?

I've got one. It wasn't £95 though, I cant remember what I did paid for it, I think it was around the £70 mark.

It is good, loads of tension, seriously overbuilt and super-short but if it had been £95 then I'd have just stuck with a good old Shimano 105 for a fraction of the cost.

It's good but it's not that good.

I'm running one as well, super slick shifting on the thumb shifts, tad hard on the forefinger shift, but I dont use that much.  Thats the shifter though.  The mech, well I think its mint, super slick shifting, keeps nice and close to the 11-32 casette, spring is strong, it stops rattling around when you hit the rough stuff. Like JJ said its seriously overbuilt, but I like that - and personally it looks fantastic on my ride.

It is indeed a chunky phunky component

Yer, I love the aesthetics but I'm more interested in the function! Especially the cable routing.

I've also been looking at short cage road mechs, but none seem to look as well made (and nice looking) as the Saint.

It boils down to a choice of either the Saint or an Ultegra 6700. The latter being £31 cheaper (for short cage versions). When I'm riding my bike, would I notice any difference between the 2?

I don't really think you would notice the difference. Where the Saint wins is... it's bombproof. Whether it lasts three times as long as a road mech remains to be seen, I reckon it will. What bike/gear set-up is it going on? I'm just wondering if a short XT would suit, it's got the same cable routing and slim profile as the Saint without the crazy price tag.

I'm using it with a single ring (40t) and a 12-25 cassette! Anyone know the length of a medium and the length of a short? I think that the mech I'm currently using (Tiagra) is medium, but I'm not sure?

The short Saint is typical road mech size, the jockey wheels are tight together, I'm sure the medium is designed for a double and bash ring set up on a 32t cassette. I wouldn't bother with an XT, even the short is too long for a single ring, I've mates who use 'em for DH but I'd sooner have a short road mech.
