Being somewhat upper class, that'd be the royal "we"

Better than General Studies 'A' level, and Leisure and Tourism degrees.

All equally pap - all kids should be taught until the age of 16 is:

English language

English Literature

Maths

Chemistry

Biology

Physics

History

Geography

A foreign language

Possibly IT as a distinct subject, but even that I think would be covered in the teaching of the rest.

I would ban all other GCSE's other than Latin as an extra for the bright sparks.

16-18 perm any 3-4 from the above for these exams only the best 15 % should get an A grade

18+ fine, do a degree, anything you do will require a mix of the above.

For those that can't handle the academic intensity at 18 we need a proper system of vocational training.

To be taught at school,

Basic english and Spelin,

Arithmatic, adding up,

Basic history,

A foreign language, so one can undersatand what all the foreigners are talking about,

Sex education so all the kids dont have kids in school,

Computer and IT,

Typing,

Life Skills,

Cooking and cleaning skills,

No need for religion,  english  literature, art,  drawing,  politics,  etc.

So what about good old things like Woodwork and Metal work.

Even one on bike car or motorbike maintenance wouldn't go amiss

Music and Dance

or god forbid RE

Disagree with some of those SB- art encourages creativity, and without English Lit we will have even more illiterate **** than we do at the moment. Even if they are just reading Harry Potter they are at least not sitting on their games consoles/PC's/phones texting like an retarded gimp.

and to the person who mentioned Latin - WTF is the point of that ?
