My cane creek headset bearings are feeling a bit rough and need replacing.

Does anyone know if the cane creek s8 bearings will fit in the s3 headset cups?

Are the S8  bearings at £30 worth installing compared to the S3 ones at £14 on CRC, i.e do the S8 bearings have a longer life?

Does anyone know what size these bearings are, i.e are they a standard size? ( I haven't taken them out yet so I can't see)

I've had about 10 months  use of this. Does anyone think this headset is worth keeping or would you scrap it and get a better one?

Cheers

Paul

I have a Cane Creek integrated headset on my road bike and Hope stainless steel bearings are the ones I replaced the originals with.

My originals, BTW are 8 years old, and being plain steel they rust. I have took them out every so often, picked the seals out of the bearing cleaned them and repacked with a decent grease.

Although I've never checked I would guess that any [maybe not Chris King] headset bearing will fit as they usel industry standard  bearings.
