CBR is a bit low for riding in London - all the couriers ride fairly sit-up-and-beg bikes because you can see more and be seen.
Like the green cross code.

many many things in the past but marital harmony has pulled that particular pleasure from under my feet.
errrm,
mbr50 dt125 350YPVS - stolen (bastards) VF500

Currently CBR 600 FV. Like Jon I've enjoyed the plesures of many machines. Most smiles/mile was an RD350LC. While not an especially powerful bike the throttle was more of a switch than a control...
Am going to flog the CBR and get a Bandit 1200.

 |
ah so i was right again
mwuhahahha
Dan

why not go the whole hog and get a gsx-r 1000 or how bout one of the new r1's or zx12-r?
|

 Ah, happy memories.......
BSA Bantam BSA Gold Star Royal Enfield Continental GT Yamaha RD 200 (damn! How did that get in there) Velocette Thruxton Vincent HRD Norton Commando
All now sold. I hope they're looking after them properly (except the Yamaha, which will have rusted away by now, of course).

Oh, and how could I have forgotten my wonderful Laverda Montjuich.
|
 |
are you really, really old or some kind of old bike afficianado?
|
 |
although I did learn to ride on a bantam, big ugly heavy bugger it was, could kick back like a donkey too.
|
 |
best kicking bike I ever had was an XT 500. very easy to start if you got it right, or it was cold. It could easily stop you walking for a week if you got it wrong on a warm day...

Not really interested in hyper sports bikes. My CBR only hs 95 odd horse power and I can't ride anywhere near flat out. Gixer thou has more than half as much power again with much better brakes, frame and suspension. If I lived next door to a track then maybe, but no use on the road.
I'm a bit of a bandit on a bike so it makes sense to get one!

Started with an RM50 scrambler when I was 6. Since then I counted 20 bikes I can remember with the highlights being original FZR600, multiple RD250/350s, imported VFR400RR, 2 Dominators and my poor mans duke TRX850.
August 1 was the first time I didn't own a bike for 28 years. Sad but true. Pass the slippers and copy of the guardian..

Don't need to be really old to mess with old bikes. I really want a Velocette LE myself, and I've been helping one of my workmates restore a BSA Lightning, and I'm only 26. Mine you I do sell my home electroplating kit at some of the classic bikeshows so I might have picked the interest up from there.

 VFR400RR!!!
What a laugh that bike was, SO light! So fast, so bloody noisy!
like riding a 50 with a huge massive engine squeezed in. Changes in direction could be achieved merely by moving a wad of tealeaves from one side of the mouth to the other.

Me bro is a proffessional supersport600 rider.
Despite many pleas he wont let me try any of his bikes.
booo...
