Message:	I'll be honest I'm not sure, I know I have a 7.0 shifter that's 8 speed so the number definatly isn't the number of gears. Easiest way is to check on the sram webbie. FWIW I've had no probs with the 9 speed setup even when fairly muddy ( Never had it completely muddy ). Had one minor problem but I've had that with a 7 speed - grass getting in the cogs. Dom.
