Message: I'm not trying to irritate anyone, just have a bit of conversation. I just find that having a group to go out with after work at a set time and a set place is really convenient. Especially after work when I'm pushed for time. OK, doing the same route is boring but it's the chance to ride in a group of other riders that is the good thing. I can go out, have a chat with some other riders, have a good workout and be back and showered by 8:30. At weekends I can obviously arrange to meet up with certain people and we can go further afield. Which is great too. I just think that when I get a mountain bike (which will be as soon as someone is willing to start paying me a decent slary) I would like to know that every wednesday, for instance, I can go along to Chevin Car park at 6:30 and there will be a group of riders there waiting to have a good ride, with none of the hassle of sending group e-mails back and forth trying to find out who can make it, where and at what time. I'm not saying the roady model is perfect, far from it, I'm just saying that the rides would be a lot less exclusive (more people=more fun) if you had a set meeting place and time.
