Corsair is a relatively new bicycle brand that produces some very nice looking DH and FR models, but of interest to us is the Marque, a 5in (130mm) all-mountain bike updated for 2010.
The Marque uses a single pivot suspension design with a 2.5in stroke Marzocchi Roco shock actuated by a small rocker linkage that pivots around the bottom bracket. On the swingarm is mounted an idler pulley which creates a small degree of anti-squat when pedalling. Corsair says the reason for doing this is to “neutralise chain-growth and reduce pedal feedback in all three chain rings.” The Marque’s new second generation idler pulley supports the use of a front derailleur and offers the ability to use one, two or three chain rings.
An adjustable head tube allows a three degree range of adjustment from 66 to 68 – the frame ships with a zero degree headset that results in a head tube angle of 67 but an optional 1 degree headset allows the head tube angle to be increased to 68 degrees, or decreased to 66. Adjustability extends to the rear axle which can be swapped between Maxle or quick release compatible options.
A low pivot point and the shock nestling just above the bottom bracket shell inside the downtube create a low centre of gravity. The swingarm is mounted to the mainframe using a washerless SureLock system and is easy to maintain and service. All hardware is recessed neatly into the frame for smooth clean lines and M8 shock mounting bolts use a proprietary design to ensure rattle-free rear shock performance.
Three sizes are available, two colours (white or black) and will set you back £1599.95 (including a custom tuned Marzocchi Roco R, headset, seat clamp and Maxle).
