Welcome to Eurobike. It may be raining outside the several massive halls that Eurobike occupies, but inside there's the warm glow of the first unveiling of the hottest new products due for release next year.

Suffice to say, the huge scale of the place makes it tricky (and not to mention hard on the editorial feet) to see everything all at once, so here's just a few snippets of the more interesting products spotted in the first couple of halls.

euro08-b1-side-lo

BeOne are hoping its new carbon hardtail frame might make more of an impact on the UK scene

euro08-b1-rear-lo

There's three models covering different price points all based on the same 1.04kg frame.

euro08-b1-head-lo

This is the most expensive, and with all that XTR hanging of it the weight is somewhere in the region of 8.55kg

baum-side-lo

Baum Bicycles, an Australian manufacturer had this titaninium hardtail on display, loaded with lightweight components

carraro-side-lo

Corraro had this ti hardtail, available with either 26” or 29” wheels.

euro08-carraro-rampant-lo

Also from Carraro was the Rampart, an all carbon XC full susser.

carraro-drop-lo

Light and everything, but plenty of heft in the dropouts

euro08-merlin5.25-lo

Merlin's 5.25 uses a suspension design that looks a bit like the back of an Ellsworth, but isn't.

euro08-merlin5.25-shock-lo

A Fox shock nestles beneath the long linkage and bracing strut that the rocker pivots on

euro08-syncros-stem-lo

Syncros always have some nice new components on display every year, and didn’t fail us, with these interestingly painted stems and handlebars

euro08-syncros-bash-lo

How about this silver chromed bash ring for a bit of sparkle on your bike? Also available in more subtle black

The Carraro doesn't look like a Genius RC-10, not at all...

not sure of that bracing strut on the light speed, makes the frame design look unfinished and cluttered.

sort of oh dear we have this lovly frame now where do we mount the shock, just bung this bit of tube in their and jobs a good un.

is syncros stuff good again, went through the mill a few years ago loosing its quality, is it back in good owner ship?
Posted: 04/09/2008 16:27

It's part of Ritchey.
Posted: 04/09/2008 16:28

Isn't that Litespeed actually a Merlin?
Posted: 04/09/2008 16:31

It says Merlin, don't know where you got Litespeed from.

/whistles innocently

Do like that Be-One.
Posted: 05/09/2008 09:12

not only is it a merlin not a litespeed, its also not using an ellsworth rear end..

looks to me like a seatstay pivot not an ICT one..??

the works 4.0 uses an ellsworth rear end but this new one looks like a re-design.

I believe you to be correct. Duly edited

nice editing.. i like that..!
Posted: 05/09/2008 10:13

Hey Mike, why don't you just pay for us all to go out to Eurobike and save you the effort of needing to edit anything?
Posted: 05/09/2008 10:43

Because this way is a lot cheaper
