Interbike: Day 2

More cool new bikes and gubbinses from the Las Vegas aisles

Loads of stuff to look at from the second day at Interbike - here's the first batch, more to come shortly...

Bell's Metro commuter helmet has an optional ear-warming winter kit, raincover and rear LED mount.

Mavic's "economy" Crossland wheelset returns in a new UST compatible version.
  /news/images/ib03_crossmaxenduro_sml (3K)
Further up the range is the new Crossmax Enduro, a burlier Crossmax for "cross mountain" riding, it says here.
/news/images/ib03_dahon_sml (4K)
Dahon had a surprisingly sleek folding bike, complete with minimally-spoked wheels.
  /news/images/ib03_foesinferno_sml (4K)
New Foes Inferno comes complete with hotrod flames formed into the monococque. Nifty.
/news/images/ib03_indyfab_sml (4K)
Independent Fabrications is working on this prototype full suspension bike, something of a departure from steel singlespeeds. They had a very nice one of those too, though...
  /news/images/ib03_isogrid_sml (3K)
Titus is building frames with its new Exogrid system - a web is cut into titanium tubes and a carbon fibre core vacuum-bagged into the inside. It's apparently lighter and stronger than just titanium tubes but most importantly it looks amazing.
/news/images/ib03_jones_sml (4K)
Oregon-based framebuilder Jeff Jones is a man with a different take on what a mountain bike should look like. His custom Ti frames have ultra-short back ends, curved and ovalised tubes for vertical compliance but lateral stiffness and a unique handlebar optimised for technical, woodsy singlespeeding.

MRP's latest offering combines a lower roller with a plate-mount front derailleur to mix chain device security with double chainring versatility.
/news/images/ib03_pinemountain_sml (4K)
Marin prove that steel hardtails can be had from mainstream manufacturers - this is the new Pine Mountain in Columbus tubing.
  /news/images/ib03_santana_sml (4K)
Santana carbon fibre and titanium tandem uses a Titus rear end and the biggest brake rotors we've ever seen.
/news/images/ib03_wellgo_sml (3K)
Wellgo's latest clipless pedal looks a bit like a mixture of SPD and Eggbeater, complete with nitrided titanium axle.
  /news/images/ib03_xcidrive_sml (3K)
We had a spin on the top of the range GT XC 1.0 I-Drive bike at Dirt Demo - this is the mid-range 2.0.
/news/images/ib03_xtracycle_sml (3K)
Need to carry stuff? Xtracycle's bolt-on wheelbase extending luggage attachment might just fit the bill. Optional boxes, bags and platforms let you carry pretty much anything and it's robust enough for off-road use.
  /news/images/ib03_kryptronite_sml (3K)
Kryptonite's latest accessory/occasional bike lock looks like it ought to double as a yo-yo. The cable reels back into the body and it's small enough to slip into a jersey pocket.
