Pump up your cleaning

One of the more interesting products on display at the recent Core Bike Show last week wasn't a shiny new bike or set of wheels, but rather the latest from cleaning experts Muc-Off, the 2-litre Bike Cleaner sprayer.

The 2-litre Bike Cleaner sprayer is essentially a bottle with a pump action pressure system that should make the chore of cleaning your bike a doddle. We can see it being ideal for stashing in the car and giving the bike a quick wash straight after an event, particularly useful if your store the bike in the car.

Muc-Off general manager James Cramp is excited about this latest product to be added to the Muc-Off stable, commenting: "As with all of our new products we aim to tick all boxes. The new 2-Litre sprayer pretty much hits the spot on all of the Muc-Off cleaning angles.

"It's green, in that you can refill less often, but reuse and reuse - thus adhering to our 'refill not landfill' plan. It also delivers more power to the spray action, after the pump-up has been engaged and finally is very durable, -  what we would call here a 'bottle for life'!"

The cost is £19.99 and comes filled with 2 litres of Muc-Off Bike cleaner.

Good theory - it's portable (can put in car and wash bike straight after ride) and it's not a high pressure wash

But I have been using a pump spray  to clean my bike (garden type variety, usually used for poison/plant food) and find that you need about 5l of water to wash (with brush and spray) and rinse your bike - this at 2l would be too small for that.

Can get one at homebase/B&Q etc for about £15

I used to use a B&Q style garden pump also, but it sprang a leak, I have since reverted to a bucket and brush. A note on Keith's comment, you dont wash your bike in muc-off as a water replacement, its 'soap'. You spray your bike with Muc-off and then wash it off with water.
