The Titus FTM is the company's all-mountain/long-travel trail bike. It's available in carbon fibre, aluminium or titanium models, all with 135mm (5.3in) of travel. The carbon one shown here tickles the scales at 5.25lb including shock. This being 2010 there's a tapered head tube for 1.125-1.5in forks. The smooth lines are enhanced by internal cable routing, while Titus's RUB (Reinforced Under Belly) stainless steel plate wards off rock strikes from the down tube and BB. The carbon and titanium frames share a full-carbon back end, while the aluminium bike gets a aluminium swingarm and carbon/aluminium Light Rail seatstays.

We've already brought you first riding impressions of the Titus X Carbon. This is the regular aluminium X, which (similarly to the FTM) has aluminium chainstays and carbon/aluminium Light Rail seatstays rather than the full carbon fibre bits found on the X Carbon. Travel is 105mm and it's all fashionably curvy up front.

It's not all pivots and shocks - here's the Titus Fireline hardtail. It's notable for its use of hydroformed 3/2.5 titanium tubing in the front end - hydroforming is all over the place with aluminium bikes, but it's rare in titanium. The Fireline will come in 26 or 29in-wheel flavours and has interchangeable dropouts should you wish to singlespeed it.

That FTM Carbon looks fan-bloody-tastic. Did you ride one in Bootleg Canyon, Mike? Any chance of a subjective view rather than just 'the facts'?

They're all DDG. I'd settle fo the titanium hardtail.

I had a ride on a Racer-X at Thetford and was well impressed. Can't afford one though.

Not ridden an FTM yet, it's on the list though
