Are those the ones with the end caps that are made of cheese? Might not be the same but I am sure they were Clarks of some description.

After having gone through a spate of having to replace the inner cable on my Bullit every five minutes (great idea, full length cable, but you can't lube the damn thing), I put an oiler on, and cable replacement has dropped dramatically.

Cwmcarn has three DH tracks; the easiest one to find, park at the Wheel car park (up the hill from teh visitor centre), go through the forest gate by the car park, and that's the bottom of the course. There are always people there at the weekend.
Otherwise, there's Mountain Ash, Gethin, Abercarn, Wentwood, Taff Buggy Trails (only on uplift and/or race days), Mynydd Du, all of which directions can be found on www.dragondownhill.co.uk
Jason (Dragon) is also running uplift and race days through the winter, which gets you out of having to push up the hill for a small fee :-)

Was there this Wednesday. We did Mach 3 on the Monday which I don't recommend in winter - bog slogging with road descents :-/
But NyA was good, still wildernessy in places but more winterproof.
We stayed at Talbontdrain guest house near Mach - www.talbontdrain.co.uk, 21 quid a night, and Hilary does fabulous dinners but they are expensive (also 21 quid a night). It's good and central for NyA, Mach, CyB and the new stuff at Ceinws.
