We only have traffic lights inflicted on us because of the increasing numbers of cars. When its safe to do so ignore them.

As long as there's more than one driver insured to drive your car and you get snapped by a camera, write on the little form they send you "I cannot state with certainty who was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the alleged offence" They'll huff and puff a lot, and maybe even threaten you with court action and then let you off.
