My old bike's listed at 540, but the specs for the new stumpy fsr give 440ish. I did think it was a little short, especially as it doesn't ride like a clowns bike! maybe spesh will give me a new one for pointing out the typo ;o)
Clocky, mine was second hand too so the warranty issue didn't bother me but i thought you should know just in case. the frame should handle it, i think that at the time anything over 125mm was a d/h fork so they were trying to stop anyone fitting anything like boxxers to it!

I figured it must be a typo, the Stumpy is the racier bike so it should be longer, not the other way round!
Clocky, it rides great with the Pikes, mine aren't U turn but it'll still climb pretty much anything you've got the gears / legs for and it's bomb-proof coming back down again. It also raises the bb a bit, which is a good thing! I ran the frame in the steeper setting, which with slightly longer forks probably put it in between the 2 settings (if that makes any sense). Pikes will void the waranty though. |

I didn't measure it, just from looking at the specs on the Spesh site. According to the site top tube on the enduro is about 540mm and the stumpy is 440ish. in the end i skived off work and tried a demo stumpy at the lbs. doesn't feel any shorter than my enduro but needed to check before i decided what size i needed.
i'm replacing the frame as the seat tower broke in the lakes a couple of weeks ago :o( it made for an uncomfortable ride back! i'd quite happily keep it apart from that, shock had been PUSHed and with a set of Pikes on the front she was great! |
