Has anyone used the Genesis ID?  How much of a pain is it getting the rear wheel off, ie puncture time!  Is the hub gear cable a real faff?  Does it ride well, ie steel frame, although sadly Reynolds 725 not 853.

Does it fare well in comparison to a Cotic Soul, Yes I know, a different beast with a long travel fork geometery.  How about something from our Canadian friends - Cove Handjob or Kona Explosive.......

More importantly, is it just the basic, multimap/googlemap setup or could you use it with something like Memory map?

Nog,

Gotta agree withe guys about the Whytes/Cwm Carn climbs - some of the best man made climbs around.

Few things about the routes:

The wall is techy on the graveyard section - there's one part on that section yet to clean yet!

The Penrydd'sa bit of a climb after the initial interest near the centre.

The Skyline has a great short cut - at the end of the Granada section, it goes left.  If you go right and drop down what is really a drainage gulley and at the end go right again, you rejoin the Skyline proper and get to do the best bits.  In my opinion!  I think it was called the July route, when they where only part way through the Skyline.  The only techy part of note on the Skyline is the rock steps on "Jetlag".  Saying that, Jetlag is a great way to finish the Skyline!

For some, if you've never done any of the South Wales trails, the anti motocross gates are a pain.  Alternatively, it's a good chance to regroup on the climbs and the decents.  With the ideal excuse to break out some munches!

Hey John,

Looked at your pics of the NRS prototype and it's front suspension reminded me of the love/hate Whyte PRST - 4.

Had my Cateye nicked off my road bike which nicely doubled as good off road lights. The real pain was swapping them between bikes. They were left on as such a faf to take off, 6 different parts.. Now I need a replacement set of front lights. Tried the Cateye Doubleshot - what a cack way of mounting a battery. HID's no good for commuting/ short route only a few miles but this includes a mile of dark bridleway. Fancied the look of the new Blackburn X3, Light and motion Solo or Jet lites Phamtom , not convinced by USE's reliability. Only want 1 light si I only have one to charge. Thoughts people...
