Haha... Yeah they weren't exactly the best forks in the world, but they were only on a knockabout bike so they did me fine... I figured I'd just whack a helicoil into the post mount, bolt the brake back on and just run the things into the ground... They lasted another 9 months before they started to go tits-up which was quite impressive!

Just get some helicoil inserts put in.

Dean - How can you justify the prices you charge for your cable housing? I accept that the materials may be superior to those currently in use, but is the current crop of aftermarket cable housing available for A LOT less money really that bad that people will be persuaded to buy yours?

And all that waffle about you being able to swerve to avoid a car, just because you had your special cable housing equipped - Do you REALLY think that the fact that your housing might be a little bit more compression-resistant than others made that much difference? I mean, fair play for being able to stay aboard the bike and not ending up on your arse, or through the back of the car, but I think that was more to do with your ability than your cable housing!

I'm sure there's a market for your housing somewhere - Try the people with more money than sense.

I was actually looking at a set of Z-Max's the other day on Retrobike. A guy had a set of the WCS ones for sale, never used. Then I remembered how shite they were in the wet, so I didn't bother!

I've got a set of Onza Rip and Rails coming included with the Hope wheels I bought though

Dan - When I posted a pic of my bike on Retrobike, they didn't even think that it was a Zaskar, because, and I quote - "the end of the toptube where the GT logo is stamped is convex, and not flat, so it can't possibly be".... They can be a funny bunch on that forum

So I sent a few piccies off to GT and lo-and-behold, they emailed me back to say that it WAS infact a Zaskar, and that they made a small number where the end of the toptube was curved and not flat.... So I'm happy now

I'll have to make sure I don't get followed home on it though... Mind you, good luck to them if they try to steal it from my house. One of my housemates is ex-Israeli military so they'll have to get past him first!

Yeah I just noticed that today when I had a quick look on RetroBike! I've got no money till the end of the month though , so I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that no-one has it in the meantime! I might send him a PM to see if he'll keep it for me but they can be a funny bunch, those retrobikers!

Oh, Hippytwig, it's a 12.5" - My mistake! It's the XS one. And I've got some nice new (old) wheels arriving for it next week - Retro Hope Ti hubs on Mavic 217 SUP CDs..Can't wait!
