Brilliant bikes mate. Great for all day rides and sturdy enough to try a few drops/jumps if that's your thing. They aren't fast xc bikes and have slack angles but if comfort and enjoyment of rides is your thing i'd thoroughly recommend one.
One thing I would recommend if you buy a hustler is to buy an adjustable fork. It can be a bit chopper-like on uphills if you can't wind the travel down a bit. |

Hi,
Hustler owners - what are the biggest tyres you have used successfully? Cove say that the Hustler accepts 2.3 but has anyone ran bigger?
I'm looking at 2.35 Maxxis High rollers but may go bigger if anyone has had success.
Cheers, Dave. |

I have the 04 model and haven't had the cable wear problem you have, but I have experienced worn paintwork by the cables. I fixed it by using the scuff strip used by Motorbikers to protect their paintwork. £4 for a 4ft x 2ft sheet and much less friction to wear your cables. Would this help with your problem at all?
Also - don't use Bomber forks - They're very tall axle to stanction and make the bike a little bit chopper-like. I had the All mountain SL and replaced them with the Fox Talas RLC. Much better! |

Finally, after 3 months of planning I've finally took receipt of my custom build Cove Hustler.

More of an XC/Trail bike than some on here - I went for a full Race Face Deus finishing kit, XT front/XTR rear mech, Thompson Seatpost and Mavic Crossmax SL tubeless wheelset.
Basically, just what I wanted!
Weighs in around the 28lb mark. |
