Had a similar ride the same Sunday I think - By 8.55 (when I went out) the sky just opened. Only four of us showed up for the ride, and we all bailed early down wide bridleways to get home. Halfway back i got fed up with that and just headed off into the singletrack laughing manically. When i finally got home i still wished i'd stayed out longer! Hmm, Aylesbury - my nephew lives nearby in Thame and goes up to Chicksands regularly. Aston is chalk and allegedly lethal in the wet. There's supposed to be singletrack in the Chilterns but my nephew doesnt really ride it - they get out in the woods and build jumps'n'stuff - pah, kids! I'll ask if he knows anywhere else round there. |

Yep, well done Simon - sounds pretty quick, are you back in racing whippet mode now? No riding for me for a couple of weekends now - either been away or had people staying. The forest's turned to gloop now and the dark mornings mean it's diffifult to get out before work - think I'll try tomorrow though. Great to read the tales of riding in 'adverse' conditions mind - I particularly liked Davey's riverbed/snapped seatpost ride - not sure why but inspiring stuff! |

Here it is again, online Gary's pic - looked better in the printed paper though. It's the one that won the competition you posted a link to, John. Davey, do you know Gary, or are you referring to the dolphin or californian punk band of the same name? Andrew, knee problem sounds better than it could have been. Gary and Tom - great pics |

What a brilliant weekend ... thanks again Dave for another superb meal and D&J for all the planning and sorting and everyone else for being there and being such good company! Me and Mark did another round of Drumlanrig after you left (with the extra black loop this time!) and Mabie with AndyEcc this morning before heading home. Mark's starting work just about now :/ God knows how he'll manage - I'm pooped. John, thanks for the Gary link - btw he's supposed to have a pic in The Times tomorrow (Tuesday) |
