Not very light but I use Raceface FR leg armour. It works and I personally don't find it too restrictive or hot (not at this time of year anyway!).

Used to carry it and put it on and take it off etc on rides but now I just wear it all the time and don't feel like a knob at all......still ride like one though.

Personally I'd get it bought.

I got one last year for £1500 Feckin' pounds (@rse!!!!!!) and its a tremendous thing.

It'll make you ride like a proper "Core Dude" or something like that and if you are patient it'll climb up hills too.

I'm 5'11" and got the 17".

If you know Mabie its over the crest at the long drag and down the other side and fork left for the loch over there on that hillside.

Bits are fairly high but the landing if you fell is on rocks - hmmmm.

I can see local sales of armour going up and the A&E dept at the hospital enjoying it!! Not open properly yet but soon apparantly.

I an be spotted riding round the 7 stanes with my Parachute on!

It's fine, I bought it after a serious face planting and if nothing else it gives a good bit of confidence. Not too hot either.
