Anne is right, it shows the cable has stretched. You need to adjust the cable tensioning nut.

I am having a problem with aluminium 'pick up' on my brake pads. This must be comming from the wheel rims, although there is no visual sign of any problems or of any roughness, on the rims. It seems to get worse when I am travelling downhill and have to apply the brakes for a longer period, its as if the heat generated causes the aluminium to 'pick up'.

I find I have to remove the brake blocks regularly to remove this embedded material.

Anyone else had this problem or know what to do?

Cheers................Ron

My girfriend is looking to upgrade her Falcon. Its too cumbersome and heavy.
She is in the market for up to £500, but it would need to be light and basically for use on roads/tarmac. She prefers an upright cycling position.
I own a Ridgeback Tempest myself, which is very light and fast on the roads, she is looking for something similar in a womans range. We have ordered the Marin catalogue as we believe they do womans ranges.
Anyone any advice as to where to start looking, or any recommendations of bikes.

cheers............Ron
