ouch!
the trouble with your suggestion mr. scared is that I only have access to a camcorder and am going to buy a helmet cam to plug into it... therefore for my project to be good, i can only really test and evaluate my mount using this kit.
the tripod idea is ok for mem card cameras but camcorders is a diff story! with the helmet cams, you have the camera inside your bag all protected and the little camera can be mounted absolutely anywhere, with the right mount......hence my project! |

| yeah problem is that for my project i actually have to design a product! and make it! i'm thinking that the bullet cams are the way forward due to them not being so expensive as actual camcorders. therefore my design may be a universal mount for a smaller helmet cam... |

Hi all,
I'm currently doing an A level Product Design course where my major project will be a camcorder mount for attatching to the bike/rider. For me to have a good idea of what would/wouldn't work, I have decided to carry out a questionnaire via email. If anyone would like to help out that would be great , and it would only take a few minutes of their time
Please copy/paste, fill it in, then send to: droppage@hotmail.com

1st Person Perspective Camcorder Mount Questionnaire
please take a few minutes to fill in this questionnaire Name: Age: Years riding: Type of riding:
Do you own a camcorder?
If yes: Which model?
Do you see an advantage by mounting it onto the bike/rider?
Have you ever tried to do this? Please give a brief description of what you did.
If no Have you considered buying one?
What made you change your mind?
General Questions: Would you find a helmet-mounted camera too cumbersome when riding?
Is there room on your bike to clamp a mount to the: Seatpost? Handlebars? Frame (please specify sections e.g. downtube)? Fork lowers? Other place (please state)?
For the type of riding you do, would anti-shock/vibration technology be necessary?
Think of your local track/trail- would a cable mounted camcorder be able to run alongside it with the rider if all fixtures were supplied?
Please add any other comments you would like to make:
Thanks, Matt Johnson |

Hi ppl,
Just wonderin if there is anyone on this forum who lives near (or near enough) to Ottery, Devon and would like to meet up for a mass trail building sesh sometime in the next month... Theres plenty of sweet terrain up there just, not much that is in the form of ridable trails (i'm talking dh/freeride trails here).
Post a reply or email me on matt_j@hotmail.com if you're interested, the more the merrier :-D |
