quick update: driver accepted responsibility for it all, getting full cost of repairs covered through driver's insurers who are sending a cheque. result!
cheers for help all, good advice on the bike claims people, good thing to have to hand for future reference that
Long story short I got hit off my bike by a car and now need to replace/repair various bits - of course, under claiming through the driver's insurance company... Front wheel is fairly straight forward to sort out, it's not just buckled but the rim itself is bent so needs completely replacing. My other concern is the damage to the forks, a set of Fox Float F80 RL's. They're 'a few years old' 2002 (I think) but have worked brilliantly over the years and the part required - new upper assembly - can't be found anywhere, as far as I can work out at least. If it requires replacing with entirely new pair (argh!) what are the options available? Again after looking around it seems the Fox forks are all 100mm these days - or is this adjustable? is there much of a difference between 80 to 100mm? OR should I look at something like Rebas which are equally good to run?
I know I wrote somewhere - probably facebook or something - back in May after a few short days of sunny warmth (above the wintery temps at least) that that was all we were getting and the weather would skip straight to autumn from spring.
I hate being right sometimes. well, hopefully september to november will bring about sun tans and so on.
