I used to get the same problem i found it was due to tightening the shoes tight at the start of ride, my feet got warm and swelled up cutting off ciculation, slacked off the shoes and the problem sloved.

That was with SPD and pearl izumi vagabonds

Im testing a mates 90mm/10 hope on sunday on local trails that should sort out if i like the shorter one.. quicker steering sounds better sum stuff we ride is twisty

I suspected it wouldnt make much difference. but i want to swap to a hope or thomson so i can upgrade my lights (eventually)to the hope system.

I cant get either in the same size

what is the effect on geometry and steering if I
1 shorten my stem from 106mm with 6 deg rise to

90mm with 6 deg rise

OR

2 lengthen to 110mm with 10 deg rise
