Never ceases to amaze me how some middle class peasants try to elevate their status by being ripped off.

Wonder if LIDL would increase their UK sales by increasing their prices? LOL!

No wonder German industry is booming whilst ours is shrinking!

Went to LIDL today. Amazed by the cycling bargains available:

Cycling bags - courier and pannier types, both attachable to a rack - only £5.99 each!

Lock set - consists of a coil lock 180 cm long and 12 mm thick, and a shackle lock - both in one set for £4.99!

Bike light set - front 'Krypton' and rear 3 LED, BOTH conforming to BS 6102/3 - all for £3.99!

Sure there are other bargains: take a look on www.lidl.co.uk under their 'Specials' part.

I'm after a fast, light, but robust and reliable sporty commuting bike.

As a poor student, I don't mind having a 'last years model' incase anyone knows of any good offers; however I won't give my search a price limit, as I want a good bike for London!

Anyone got any suggestions?

My XT jockey wheels need replacing (worn). I am wondering if anyone knows whether the LX ones will work (do they fit?) and what the difference is (other that the fact that at CRC the XT ones are £14.99 whilst the LX are £6.99 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=885).

Does anyone know of any 'aftermarket' product that might last longer than the shimano ones?

Also, how easy is it to change these wheels?
