Ok guys. Its going to be a Giant XTC zero frameset. Question now is SPEC. Budget might be now about £1900. To get this bike to a weight of about 21to22 lbs. What can i put on.
Is XTR the bestest lightweight components to put on ?
Thought about XTR wheels (disc) or Crossmax sl (disc) Anything else out there.
*****PLEASE BUILD MY BIKE FOR ME **********
Hell of a job for me coming from a full sussie to a light hardtail.
THANKS AGAIN PAUL |

Ok! my no 1 ideal was a Giant xtc zero 06 frame. Crossmax sl wheelset, sid world cup 80mm fork, sram or xtr chainset and gears. Light disc brakes as maybe avid juicy 5, and the rest a mix of thomson i supose. should be in the 21-22 lbs mark at the end. Lots of road work and very light xc. Probs alot of fire roads rather than trails. Cant be to harsh on my eyes. Dont know if you all read about them a few threads up.
thanx guys |

Jeremy Thanks for the feedback, I am suprised that a steel would be less harsh on the bumps. I though a carbon frame would do that. ummmmm!! I wanted to reduce weight realy, But if the harshness of the ride on a carbon would be more brutal for me, well i dont know.I`m back to square one again.
thanks all

Ah just thought of another question.
If i bought a Carbon frame/bike. Would i have less vibration than an alloy one. I mean would i feel the lumps and bumps on the road or light xc more than an alloy frame. |

Hi Guys Thanks all for your feedback. Must be a light fast road/xc frame/bike. with only 85mm max travel. I`m coming from a full harcore full suss. Got my ellsworth moment for sale. (hint...hint) Been adviced by the doc and family to think sensable about my eyes. Might loose sight in one, and the other isnt 100% and must try and keep it that way. (not a bike injury, but had bad eyes since i was blody born). So no more fun down the bumpy trails for me, Just road and light xc. That might help you further.
P.S I`m blody GUTED about this. ;-( |
