Montgomery, it's a small world I remember that too!!!
Basically, times have changed and after basically a year away from bikes I'm wondering if I want to get back into it again or not...
I bought it thinking I could use it from my Uni flat in Bristol, but then my landlord said 'no bikes'. I'm also a graduate now with a career that sadly leaves me with very little time for riding alongside commitments such as my girlfriend, golf and footy.
Then again, I get a new flat in Bristol in October and I am aiming to live only 5 minutes from the trails... I would need to buy some new SPDs, a new Camelback and maybe some new Lycra...
Then again although im heavily into my overdraft it is interest free and I can take out interest free loans from my employer too to cover low initial costs and I will be well paid enough to wipe out all my debt (apart from the student loan, which I dont really see as a pressing debt anyway) within a year.
I'm not really sure what I want to do to be honest. |

Hi Guys,
I am thinking of selling my Turner 5 Spot which I bought in February 2004 but I have only used a dozen times at most since andhas been largely confined too a garage 50 miles away from my Uni flat, scandalously clean.
It has full XT, Hope M4s, Thompson/Raceface/Easton finishing kit and Mavic F519/Hope XC wheels and a Fox Vanilla R front fork. I believe off the top of my head.
If I put this bike up for sale how much do you think it would go for? If I remember correctly the valuation when I bought it was around £2700, and I know I will struggle to match anywhere near this.
Hit me with the bad news! :)

Azonics are not as good as a 5 Spot. Trust me i've ridden both. They are OK bikes though.
For around a grand I think you can get an Ellsworth Truth somewhere. |

From 3.6" to 4" of Travel. It (the Flux) has a silver swingarm so looks better.
Turner only repackaged the Burner as a Flux because the Americans couldnt get over the 10cm difference in travel that you can't even notice due to the quality of the suspension travel.
Burners are as tough as 5 Spots, and the new Flux weights 5.6lbs inc shock while the 5 is 6.3lbs inc. shock which sounds like a similar weight difference between the old Burner and the 5 Spot.
SO yeah, i'd buy a Burner if it's cheap. |
