If it's any help, my 04 Mount Vision did the same, i did this to cure it :-

Take the rear mech hanger off, clean & degrease everything. put a thin film of copperslip grease on each face (the swingarm & the mech hangar). Take an old innertube & cut a shape out roughly to match the swingarm/hangar interface, not forgetting the two holes for the screws!
When it's all bolted back together trim off the excess innertube. Mine's been silent ever since!
Also, you may find it's the shock bushings creaking. I grease the aluminium bushings every couple of months whilst doing the strip down maintainance - reminds me....

I have the one-piece linkages, so not had any problems there.

I must say that the Decathalon bibs i bought are far more comfy & warm (as well as water resistant) than the pair of endura bibs they have replaced, they are a little heavier though, whether you think that is a good thing or not is for you to decide.

One point of view is that HID gives a very 'on/off' 'white/black' viewing experience, whereas halogen gives a softer light. What this means in effect is that HID's can make shadows very black indeed with little depth perception, a photographer i know rides with both so that when he takes a pic he uses halogen for a better sense of depth.
It's all subjective though, buy what suits you best although i must say i haven't noticed wet muddy ground 'soaking up' the light energy, perhaps i've been to busy!

I recently bit the bullet & bought the 'standard' Lumicyle set of 12w spot (7deg angle) & the 20w flood.

When put next to my two mate's HID sets they do look weak, but when actually in use on the trail - i.e. away from the others - i found the 12w spot to be easily more than enough light for me, in fact i have only used the 20w flood on one narrow ledge type of trail!
P.S. i ride muddy moorland trails & have no problem whatsoever with halogen in the mud...

Just bought a pair from Decathalon for £28.
Appear to be well made from mid-weight fleece-backed lycra with padded insert, chest & ankle zips & mesh back.
Worn them for one all-day ride & one wet night ride so far, & the prognosis is good. They are comfy to wear, warm without being to warm & have the seams in all the right places (no chaffing).

Different styles available - padded & unpadded - & prices range from £25 - £40

Why spend £100+ ?
