I'm another one that was overweight at Geneva coming back to Heathrow/Aberdeen.
Removed the required weight from my one and only bag (bike bag) and had a huge amount of carry on luggage, which I promptly stuffed back into my bike bag as I wheeled it round to the baggage handlers. Stupid - it went on the plane! The other guys I was with were'nt so lucky and got stuffed for £80 or so each.
This was after 6 bikes were a day late in arriving in Geneva, and a seventh was two days late and bent. All very nicely packed in propper bike bags.
What anoyed us most about the BA service was the lack of information. At no time could any of the bags be traced? As someone has already said... those on easyjet etc who paid less than half what we did had none of this sh!t. Our problem is that flying from Aberdeen means you are at the mercy of BA - we also paid full BA fare and got Triton and Swiss Air flights? Which we had to re-check in for. Which delayed us at the Heathrow, and probably explains why the bags were late. We stupidly chose BA because the transfer time at 2 hours was reasonable, and because we thought our bikes had a better chance of making it.
I am a frequent flyer and choose to fly KLM most of the time due to the poor service from BA. KLM give me points which I can redeem. BA's miles are a steaming pile of useless poo - unless you get to fly business class (you lucky *&^%).
Anyway - so far 7 letters of complaint have sent. Only two reply's which basicaly state - thank you for flying with us, sorry we were sh!t, we look forward to screwing you again in the future!
