Have just replaced the pads on my front Hayes-9 HFX disk brake - pistons

where not back far enough so gave them some welly with a screwdriver between

the old pads - as I did the bung in the top resevoir popped out along with a bit of

brake fluid. Managed to find the bung so put it back in and brakes appear to be working ok.

Question is:- is this ok ??  with the bung having popped out is air likely to have got in the system and they now require a full bleed??

Any advice please.

Ran NN up front and RR on rear last year - RR lasted all summer - did 55k Merida at

Ruthin with no probs - RR rolled really well/fast in dry but then the compromise was

not much grip if there was any mud about. 

Ok have got BB out with friends help its a Truvative Giga X Pipe  XR  -  carn't seem to find them on CRC or wiggle etc - only ones they have seem to be road versions.

Whats the best options to replace it with if I carnt get one. Needs to  fit with the same crank set - will the new Hope ones be compatable  ?

Gritty - no not a HTII its a Truvative Firex I think - about 16 months old. 

Ok I'm not much of a maintenece person so any help please.

Bike has developed a clicking noise as the cranks are turned - sometimes its every turn sometimes not - had a quick look and if I push one crank arm towards the other there's a bit of play - does this sound like a BB problem and if so does it just need tightening up or is it more serious.
