| 'Try one, you might like it.' | | Strengths: Made of steel! Having had bad experiences with aluminium slalom frames, I thought I''d try a steel one. I''m not disappointed! Frame handles well, nice head angle, jumps really well and feels very precise and snappy in the turns. Good on the trails, but really comes into its own when racing dual or whatever it''s called these days. It just feels so solid and confidence inspiring. The LT version is supposed to be run with 5" forks (I run psylos), and the tweaked angles make the frame perform very well indeed. After snapping my DS-1, I tried loads of bikes like this (Azonic evolution, Spesh P3, Revell, Pashley, 24Seven, Heavy Tools, On-one etc) and despite this kind of competition, the Trailstar really holds its own. | | Weaknesses: Not quite as nice as a Pashley 26mhz, but at half the price I''m not bothered. Funny international chain device mount means that I can''t run my old AC device properly. | | Overall: A great value jump/BSX frame that might not be quite as flashy as a Pashley or a Curtis, but at this price you'd be fool not to at least try one. I haven't broken it yet (and I haven't seen any break) so I have to give a 5 for reliability really. |
