'GREAT GUIDES, SCENERY, AND ACCOMMOODATION'
Strengths:
Accommodation and facilities very comfortable - showers always hot!
knowledgable guides, friendly hosts, good variety of trails. good bikes with good setup. group size is just right (8). bodegas next door. Rest day in Seville.
Weaknesses:
I never did find the local shop.
Overall:
I have to declare an interest here - I didn't pay for my trip as i won it on bikemagic ( yes someone does actually win these things!)but my comments would be the same if i'd paid list price. I had a week at the cerro macho base, which suited me as i like peace and quiet. martin, george and john were great and helped me settle in quickly as i arrived a couple of days before the rest of the group. My offroad experience prior to the trip was approx nil but the trails and teaching meant i quickly gained confidence and was tackling stuff at the end of the week i wouldn't have dreamed touching before. and i guess that's what it's all about. Others in the group had a 2 centre hol and raved about the trails here, especially around Cordoba. One guy was a returnee so there's no higher praise is there. Would I go back and pay with my own hardearned? Yep. i'm thinking of doing it on the road, though, which is now a very reasonably-priced option. Just as soon as i get a job....
