WTB Velociraptor 2.1 Rear

'tyres for ridding not changing'
Strengths:
they grip well in all conditions
Weaknesses:
slow on roads and smooth trails
Overall:
Good performance and fir and forget versatility

The first one I owned was even more grippy.
I think it was a better casing and softer compound. The bloke who gave it to me said it cost £30 quid. I think bonethrone have some of these higher speck tyres, they might be worth checking out for ultimate up hill grip

'tyres for ridding not changing'
Strengths:
They grip the trail well. Up down round corners summer or winter they only slide when really pushed
Weaknesses:
Slow on the road and smooth trails but you can't have everything
Overall:
Big air chamber protects your rims and adds comfort.

'cheap and faifly cheerful flatties'
Strengths:
hold your feet in place while moving but not when you've stopped
Weaknesses:
plane journal bearing on the inside, behind apoor seal. the outer bearing is a sealed unit but can work lose
Overall:
As a cheapish and cheerful try of platforms I am happy. A full sevice with loads of greese has them running smoothly.

If you are sure you want flatties and can afford it spend more money

Too much of the small amount writtten about each bike is stuff like.

XT rear mech....... Deore hollow crank whch you could work out from the brochure, manafacturers website LBS etc.

Staff have short upper bodies/stiff backs and need risers on all bikes to help out. They also hate you for using this website
