Michelin XCR Dry
Posted: 09/07/06
'FAST ROLLING DRY CONDTION TYRE'
Strengths:
* rolls real fast
* grips well
* no drag
Weaknesses:
* don't like mud
* wears little fast
Overall:
truly great summer race/xc tyre. very little drag on any surface, and really are worth the money.
The XC dry which is a little cheaper works nearly as well but lasts a lot longer, so i'm using one of these on the back and the xcr on the front. good combination imo

'GRIPPY! GRIPPY! GRIPPY!'
Strengths:
*Grippy
*rolls well
*corners well
Weaknesses:
*drags when accelerating
Overall:
quite narrow for a 2.3 and quite surprised it fits in my rigid jey frame.

ideal winter tyre for winter xc.
grips on all surfaces, mud, gravel, chalk, clay.

well worth the money

'AT LAST, AA SADDLE THATS AR*E SHAPED!'
Strengths:
comfy, real comfy
light
kevlar rear
Weaknesses:
looks a little odd
Overall:
it looks like it wouldn't be comfy but it is. Rather than being flat, its slightly dipped, so its sort of like sitting in it. i thought this would hurt my bum, but i can truly say that its the most bum-friendly saddle ever.
i always thought all saddles were uncomfortable, but have just realised that i've never found a decent saddle.
got mine for £65, so i reckon its a complete bargain.

'OVER PRICED, BUT WARM'
Strengths:
keep feet warm.
and dry.
Weaknesses:
the little velcro tab a top of the shoe does not stay connected, at all.
the zip is fiddly and stiff, oiled it and its better, but a lace or pullcord would be better.
very narrow, bought 45 (instead of 43), length is fine but they are still narrow.
Overall:
they keep my feet warm, and thats good, but i'm a bit disapointed to have bought some boots that don't fasten properly. its a design fault.

i wear sealskinz, and a light sock under them. and they are plenty toasty.

they keep your feet warm, but i'm slightly concerned about longevity, as i can't see the zip lasting long, and the velcro tab don't work at all.

'EFFECTIVE'
Strengths:
works for me. easy to set up. no wires
Weaknesses:
i scuffed the screen, maybe a lip so the screen is protected would be better
Overall:
IF properly set up this computer will give you no problems.
seen the other reviews, but don't know how people are losing them or having problems setting this computer up.
i think its very effective and no problems here.

'GREAT RINGS!!!!! OK.... THEY'RE RUBBISH'
Strengths:
stronger than a strong thing thats been eating spinach forever. light, and readily available replacement rings(unlike xtr)
Weaknesses:
the middle has got real worn after 400 miles.
Overall:
if you haven't got some yet, why not??
they really are very good, they are really stiff and the transfer of power is excellent. No flex at all, and the strength to weight ratio is the best i've ever come across.
shame about the rings, but hey thats shimano

'QUAILITY FORK'
Strengths:
light, stiff. get on with the job without any bother. look pimpy in black
Weaknesses:
none
Overall:
got some on my ss, and swop them to my hardtail for a change every now and then.
for the price, they are the best rigid forks out there. don't expect them to handle heavy riding, they're for people who can ride.
