Strengths: Bike is very ridgit and very light. It does absorb more bumps than the average AL frame, but does not sacrifice any stiffness.
Weaknesses: Price is ridiculous!!! And I had to wait 2 months for the frame after I had to pay a 40% deposit...!?!
Overall: I have just received the 2006 model, which is the same as the 2005. The only difference is the decals. The bike offers a very smooth ride, climbs like a mountain goat on steroids and just wants more. Unfortunately at this price it is only avaliable to a few who are stupid enough to waste this amount of money, when they can buy a complete bike for the price of this frame. But I suppose this is our sport and sometimes obsession...
Weaknesses: Rear shock is a nightmare to set-up, and it does not keep settings. Requires some adjustment after every few rides - otherwise shock does not work at all - like riding a hardtail
Overall: Bit pricy, Very comfortable ride, Lacks tubless wheels, but a good buy.
Strengths: Frame is flawless, geometry "untouchable"
Weaknesses: Rear SHock is not reliable, Cable setting loses adjustment
Overall: A bit expensive, but it is worth every cent. I have the RC-10, just a groupset upgrade, frame & rear shock is identical. Scary how the price differes from RC-10 to RC-20
Strengths: Frame is perfect geometry. I ride a medium, and find it excellent for XC racing and Endurance use. I did the Cape Epic on it this year, and was very pleased with the bike.
Weaknesses: Rear Shock. The design is fine, but the shock itself does not last. It starts by making a knocking sound, and then loses air pressure.
Overall: I have a Genius RC-10. The principle is the sdame as the MC, but with 90mm travel instead. Both Bikes use the same shock, which I am sorry to say is a load of SH**T. I have had 4 rear shocks in a matter of three months. Frame design is flawless, very nice ride, good value for money. Personally I won't buy another one. I'd rather go for a Trek Top Fuel 110.
Strengths: The shock performs like a possessed mountain goat on steroids! The remote lockout allows the rider to have total control over the amount of suspension you require for the specific terrain. The fork is very ridged and extremely ligh (1.23kg incl. remote lockout).
Weaknesses: With every work of art comes a hefty price tag. The SID Worldcup is not cheap. I paid R6700,00 for mine. I was not impressed by th efact that I did not get a pump with the shock. If I pay that amount of cash for a shock I expect everything to come with it.
Overall: Well.. I did buy it and I am extremely impressed with the performance.. still want the damn pump though!
