Strengths: Good price, looks nice, can remove the pads for washing, fits me well.
Weaknesses: After 5 months use, the only gripe might be of the chin strap. 1. You can't remove it to wash, mine looks really grubby now. 2. It comes loose a bit too easy.
I suppose having an adjustable visor would be nice, but hasn't been an issue for me.
Overall: It's a great lid, I'm very pleased with it. I would happily buy another. I took a straight face plant, cut above my eye, the visor broke off, but I just plugged it back in.
Strengths: articulated fingers are a good design idea, look nice.
Weaknesses: a bit sweaty even in the UK! palms wear out too quick for a glove this price
Overall: I had these for about 5 months in 2007 of 2x a week riding and they ripped along the stitching on one palm. I would describe myself as an average XC rider. They came away at the stitching on one palm, I didn't fall and rip them. They needed to be replaced a bit too quick for a glove at that price. Next time I will buy a glove with a more hard wearing palm and some breath ability.
Strengths: Very bright and reasonably priced. Quick to install/remove. Lots of after sales add ons to buy ie helmet mount, remote switch etc. Website is very good. 3 battery size options to fit your budget and/or requirements.
Weaknesses: The only slight niggle is the side-to-side adjustment of the lamp units, the screw comes loose if you adjust it too often. So, then you have to remove the lamps to retighten the screw. If Lumi could redesign that to make it more user friendly, then they would be excellent. For me, the cables could have done with being an inch or two longer.
[Update 12/09/07] Cable keeps pulling loose on lamp unit, usually at the most dangerous times aswell. So, I had to put a bit of tape on it to keep the cable in. A simple bayonet fitting would sort this problem out or a 'plug in' that was less finite on the connection.
Overall: I had a few small problems at first, but they were immediately sorted out by Lumi. ie. I wasn't happy with one of the bulbs, so they sent me a few to try out, no quibbles. The 'remote switch' idea is very good, I definately recommend that as an add on. Overall I'm very happy with my setup which is 20w spot, 20w flood, endurance battery.
