Strengths: Going Down! Feels so solid and controlled at speed over drops, round berms through rocks - it'll handle it. Be confident in the bike and your abilities...it'll do it (and'll help out even if you can't)! 5" travel used to be on full on downhill rigs a few years back so its bound to be fun. Frame has the look and feel of something that will out live you! |

Weaknesses: Going up! It gets there with not too much bob thanks to the pro pedal shock ut it feels every ounce of its 30-odd pounds. Looking forward to this contributing to my fitness regime throughout the summer! Brakes. Why has it only got 6" rotors? The Hayes brakes are good but with all that weight (and the added bulk of this clydesdale test pilot) 8" rotors would have been nice and will probably be my first upgrade..I'll be trying diffrent pads first before I spend though. The Tioga DH Tyres need very little pressure - give them too much and it becomes interesting - it's worth risking a few punctures to get some grip - buy some downhill tubes you skinflint!! |

Overall: An excellent package for people who ride for the descents and consider climbing to be a necessary evil. It'll get you up but will get you fit (and breathless) in the process. Very durable frame and component selection favouring function over flashiness. Great fun - will make you do things you didn't know you could or even wanted to!! |
